Program Description

Core courses in positive law, building upon the basics of constitutional law, contract law, criminal law etc. (so-called “Six Main Codes”) and covering applied legal fields such as environmental law and trade law are provided. The emphasis will be on coursework. Courses in the required skills in legal interpretation, the analysis of case law, and the analysis of modern political decision-making process are offered as same as in the YNU law school. The systematically structured curriculum ranges from contract law, torts, commercial law, corporate law and other areas of business law to taxation law, social security law and other applied law areas, as well as political science, public administration and international development studies. _
The teaching emphasizes both theoretical and practical aspects of positive law, including the specialized fields of various social policies, giving students advanced knowledge in law and public policy and critical thinking ability. The course also responds to the growing demand for legal and public policy experts in East and Southeast Asia. After completion of the degree, graduates may proceed to doctoral studies, or seek employment as legal experts, public officers in national and local governments as well as international and transnational organizations, and as corporate legal advisers in international businesses.
