留学生とフィールドトリップに行ってきました
JICA-DSP「住民参加型の地方行政」の2年生９名全員が、志賀教授と椛島教授の引率のもと6月24日（月）鶴見区の北部第二水再生センターを視察しました。横浜市には11の水再生センターがあります。生活排水は排水処理場で処理し、河川や海に放流されます。まず、留学生たちは大きな会議室で英語のビデオを見ながら下水道の重要な役割について学びました。そのあと、水質管理室に案内されました。部屋には試験管にいろんな種類の水がはいっていて、試験管の蓋を開けて匂いをかぐことができるので、下水や蒸留水の匂いを嗅ぐ勇敢な生徒もいました！また、汚れた水をきれいにするのは微生物で、様々な種類の微生物とその名前の写真が展示されていました。それから部屋を出て、５つの役割を果たす外部施設を視察しました。その後、留学生たちは最初の会議室に戻り、水再生センターの解説者と留学生の間で活発な質疑応答が行なわれました。当日は絶好のお天気で、大型水槽の前で記念撮影ができました。

All nine international students in the second year of local government in the JICA-DSP “Local Governance with Community Participation” went to a tour ofHokubu No.2 Wastewater Treatment Plant in Tsurumi under the lead of Professor SHIGA and Professor KABASHIMA on 24 Jun (Mon). There are 11 Wastewater Treatment Plants in Yokohama City. Domestic wastewater is treated at wastewater treatment plants and discharged into rivers and ocean. First the students went to a large conference room and watched an English video to learn about the important role of sewers. After that the students were guided to the Quality Management Office. In the room, various types of water were placed in test tubes, and some brave students smelled sewage and distilled water because they could open the lid and smell it! In addition, it is microorganisms that clean dirty water, and photos of various types of microorganisms and their names were on display. We stepped out of the room and toured the facilities that play five roles. After the tour, the students returned to the first conference room, where a lively question-and-answer session was held between the center's speakers and the international students. On the day of the event, the weather was perfect, and we were able to take a commemorative photo in front of the large tanks.
