留学生と蛍の保全活動について学びました

2024年6月5日（水）、横浜市栄区の瀬上沢で小池治名誉教授のご引率でスタディツアーを実施し、瀬上沢地区の環境保全活動について学びました。国際社会科学府の留学生を含む、 計9名の学生が参加しました。

ツアーでは夜空に飛交う多くの蛍を鑑賞する事ができました。暗闇に光るホタルはまるでクリスマスツリーのようで、参加者は美しさに見惚れていました。なかには故郷のホタルを懐かしく思い出した学生もいたようです。

また、アフリカのある留学生によると、母国では蛍をそっと手に捕まえて、願い事をしてまた放つと願いが叶うという言い伝えがあるそうです。参加の学生達と「無事にプログラムを修了できますように」とみんなで祈りました。

みんなの願いが叶いますように。

On Wednesday, June 5, 2024, we conducted a study tour led by Professor Emeritus Osamu KOIKE and learned about conservation activities in the Segamizawa area, Sakae ward, in Yokohama city. Nine students, including international students from the Department of International Social Sciences, participated.

On the tour, we were able to appreciate many fireflies flying in the night sky. The fireflies glowing in the dark were like a Christmas tree, and the participants were fascinated by the beauty. It seems that some students fondly remembered the fireflies in their hometown.

Also, according to an international student in Africa, there is a legend that in his home country, if you gently catch a firefly in your hand, make a wish, and release it again, your wish will come true. We all prayed that we could complete the program safely.
